Hi all hope all is well here a post on the android apps I have on my Tegatech tega v2 I was lucky enough to have android on my tega v2 well as everyone in Brisbane knows me as Mr. tablet pc now as I have a lot of tablets and mobiles mainly android base a few windows ones to anyways as everyone know who have met me I spend a a lot of time on the app store downloading apps as I have to report back to my customers and my blog well here some of the apps I have found as must have ones I didn’t bother with most the rubbish on the app store I choose the ones that people tried and tested like me and the apps that will actually be used and not left there to use up your spaces as it can slow down your devices I also would like to recommend you should move your apps and run them off a micro SD card as games run much better from a micro SD card the other thing the question I keep get asking on the email is how do I get more battery life out of my devices 1st step is to dim the lcd brightness down to 25% most the time you get more battery life out of any device endless apps on your devices.

The other thing I have notice is the amount of demo software you get on your mobile and lap top these days uninstall them as they just there to fill up and take up free memory and hard drive space .

Here my apps list for android works well on tablets and mobiles

Handcent SMS is a great app that can replace the default messaging app. It is highly customizable and just way better looking. It lets you easily set different notifications for different contacts, change the background for texts, change the color of bubbles for different contacts, and so much more.

Handycalc is like your built in calculator on steroids. It does everything you could want it to. It can graph and it has a unit and currency converter built in. It also comes with a good tutorial to show you what all it can do.

Advance task killer allows you to end all the apps running in the background, which slow your phone down and drain the battery. There are plenty of other apps like this in the market; this is just what I like. If you’d like to try something else, try Advanced Task Manager.

Astro is a file manager that will let you view and edit the files on your sd card It does everything you could want it to do. Copy, paste, delete, move, create folders, open files, you can even install .apk files if you enable unknown application sources.

Any post is a ping.fm app for Android. If you don’t know what ping.fm is, it’s a site that allows you to update your status to multiple social networking sites at once. The app is simple and looks nice. It also allows you to add pictures or locations to your post.

Games

Bebbled is a great puzzle game with a bit of a twist. It plays a bit like Bejeweled, only you can turn your phone upside down to reverse the gravity! It’s a lot of fun and pretty challenging at times. You can also press a button to reverse the gravity if you don’t want to be flipping your phone back and forth.

Angry birds Rio

Angry birds.

First thing is yes I know Mr. Hugo he has taught me all my tablet pc knowledge that i have passed on to others and have converted 1000s to take up the Tablet PC. The first time I picked up the TEGA was when Cameron, a very good mate of mine and business partner, bought one from MR Hugo and to my surprise bought it to lunch back in December 2010. As soon I picked it up it felt like I was on another planet the tablet did not feel like a heap of cheaply made plastic or something that was made like a counterfeit iPad. The TEGA felt like a real tablet; the touch felt smooth and the rear aluminium feels like something you get in a high end laptop, and not like something you get from a cheap mobile phone. The support for it has been really good with senior technician at Tegatech, Yong Sun and Hugo answering all my question of support.

The thing I love about the TEGA v2 is the extra battery life – this is a big plus, also it can dual boot into two Operating Systems, i.e. Windows and Google Android, which is good as sometime I like android better for stuff like Facebook and blogging but some time you have to boot into windows to use office to run my business and CRM software; for example when I get to an event I get people to add there information instead of them giving me there business cards as they end up in the bin. The savings I have made from not printing business cards is great, and there are saving for other people in business if they get this to work properly into their computer departments too. There are other advantages to be had too, for example people can save their information into applications like Sage, ACT, MYOB, Outlook, which are all programs they use in everyday life. WithMicrosoft Office I have the power of Outlook, or MYOB has a Contact Manager software too. I know everyone has a Windows Phone or Google Android and they can bluetooth there information onto the TEGA easily too .

The other thing I have to point out is Hugo has been in the tablet pc industry since the beginning, i.e. over 10 years. As soon as the first Tablet PC hit our shores in Australia Hugo went off and decide to wholesale tablet pc; he went and sourced the best Tablets from around the world and bought them to Australia. He didn’t bother with the cheap and nasty stuff on the market, instead he source the best and bought them to Australia.

If I was going to build a tablet the TEGA v2 is what I would build. It has everything I want and need in one neat tablet with the feeling and looks to go with it.

Note I’m not getting paid to endorse Tegatech, as I write this blog as a hobby for the technology that love and I live and breathe.

Last week I attend a roadshow which was called trend micro securing your journey to the cloud they told us at the end to fill out the evaluation sheets for a chance to win an apple ipad 2 which did not exist in this case was marketed by them as the attendee door prize here the catch I actually won the door prize which is more like a phantom ipad 2 now I got a sms from Amanda from trend micro say asking for my details asking if I was a reseller no where on the evaluation forms did it say u had to be a re seller or partner on the entry forms or on the web site to say anything like that all it said was win a chance to win a ipad to for attending nothing else in my case I was the lucky winner they didn’t send me the ipad 2 I had to wait it been a week now they are saying I’m not allow to win the ipad 2 as I’m not a partner or reseller well as that was not mention in the meeting or in any emails Affinity, Affinity PLUS and Affinity ONE Sales and Pre-sales resellers and potentially new Trend Micro resellers. As I fall under potentially new Trend Micro resellers. For trend micro which is in the rules of the competition I should get the prize right as the accc states advertising a prize that not there is a breach of the trade practices act .

Hi it been while since I wrote a blog about a mobile (cellfones) as those close to me know that half my customer base was wash out here in Brisbane QLD when we had the flood and me out helping to get people back on their feet to my fans and customers of teckhamsterblog and guys hang in there we will get though it were here for the long term and we are going to get through this.

Now about the htc desire HD

The desire hd is a well built and really solid phone running – Android 2.2 (Froyo) with HTC Sense
with a 1 GHz Qualcomm MSM 8255 processor I been using it for a week now this is a hands on experience review

When I first turn it on as everyone know I’m a addicted to the android market first thing I did was got advance task killer which is a kick ass app for killing the apps in the background the outher app called spare parts to change and turn off stuff like the gps Bluetooth and 3g and change the lcd brightness and drill down on your mobile screen.

very responsive and very quick for text I’m putting for sms and email battery life if left on everything like 3g wi fi music and no apps killed about 4hours battery life on a good charge I manage to get about a day running time on battery .

pros

good decent size screen

very good camera 8 mega pixel

hd video camera

very fast cpu

good touch imput for texting and games

has Dolby and srs mobile surround sound

cons

poor battery life

audio port is on the bottom not the top people like me use to the port on the top like the htc (wildfire)

Needs a higher higher capacity battery

Very poor in battery management .

The add on I recommend

Getting a tpu case

And a matte screen protector

Well as everyone know I been using a lot of android devices from the htc magic (donut)to the htc wildfire (custom froyo rom)Optus aka zte z7 my tab running on (elclere). The next android comeing out will what looks to be tablet only honey comb well what I decide to write about is the key features of honey comb .

• System Bar: system-wide access quick access to notifications and system status.

• Action Bar: within apps user will have access to contextual options, navigation, widgets, or other types of content.

• Customizable Home Screen: default of 5 customizable home screens. Each screen offers a large grid that maintains spatial arrangement in all orientations as well as a Search box for universal search of apps, contacts, media files, web content, and more.

• Recent Apps: shows a list of recently accessed apps to quickly jump between apps. • Redesigned keyboard: reshaped and repositioned for improved targeting and formatting for larger screen for quick text entry.

• Improved Copy & Paste: press and hold text to pull sliders enable more accurate text selection. Especially useful for devices without trackball input.

• New Connection Options: connect to other devices like digital cameras without USB mounting or attach USB and Bluetooth keyboards.

• Updated Core Apps: Browser, Camera and Gallery, Contacts and Email are improved for more screen real estate.

•	Browser includes tabbed browsing and incognito window for trackless web browsing.

•	Camera and Gallery; the Camera app offers quick access to exposure, focus, flash, zoom, front-facing camera and Gallery app views albums in full screen.

•	Contacts improved formatting of international phone numbers and improved presentation of contacts in card-like format.

•	Email app uses new two-pane UI. The app lets users select one or more messages, then select an action from the Action Bar, such as moving them to a folder.

Users can sync attachments for later viewing and keep track of email using a home screen Widget Still

by far the best app I seen is the ad blockers and the Google maps and advance task killer are the apps I use the most guess we have to wait and see what performance and how it can handle on the up comeing device that are flooding the market in 2011.

Hi all as everyone know most Queensland was underwater most people ditch there lap tops and tablets and so on.

In the planning of the emergency for the fones and gadgets what I did was run them off battery banks which last me 3 days without just very lucky I was ready to week before I empty out all the batteries in the torches and lap tops and tablets charged all the battery banks I own 3 all up each one gives me a extra 10 hours of battery life note this is based on gadget cases.

The smart thing I did was make sure all the devices ran on usb or micro usb in the event I could not I made sure they had converters which are easy to get on eBay and retractable cables in the kit.

The other thing I did was dim all my devices down to half or 5% brightness.

the other things I got was water proof bags imp not the sort guy that get loans of cheap bags and torches hey better to get the best at the time for torches I recommend sure fire and ultrafine and mag light led ones for bags I use samsonite and high sierra battery bank wise I choose oem so anyone should do the job all my device roll up into kits for in case I have to run on short notice in this case I was very lucky I didn’t unpack everything from my last trip I went on.

The war of the tablets between Telstra and Optus

This post about the so called tablets on the market in particular the Optus tablet and the Telstra tablet.

Optus mytab (zte v9)

Let’s start with the well after going to Optus running around trying to find one that not playing up or bright or dead pixels I had to give up my search why because in the industry ur bond to find bright or dead pixel all a few well Optus and zte need to get their act together on this one why because this tablet a great product but there a few down sides to it to with the lcd itself the ones I have exchange from Optus in Brisbane city were either cracked or had at least 4 bright and 1 dead pixel in them but all round very fast and good for everyday use or people on budget look for a device that user friendly and fast on the other hand watch out as with all good things come drew back if you can’t put up with low speakers or bright or dead pixels I strongly don’t recommend u getting one of these as they will find their way as ur next door stop for software wise the touch input is resistive touch which is far more accurate then the Telstra t tab pick up more and boot speed about 10sec I put a 32 gig micro sd into mine sound wise for mp3s good luck trying to get deaf as I turn it up full 100% over the ipad u get a sore ear this one is light and built to a price over all I think they have to fix the major bugs that I have found like the lcd and sound other then that it a great product great battery life fast no lag cpu as I open a lot of programs and apps 80 to my count still running smooth abit laggie for games but for net and word and facbook very quick easy to use . The Optus MyTab has average battery life, managing to last a full day in most instances. While this obviously doesn’t place it in iPad territory, it is far better than the similarly priced Telstra T-Touch Tab. Unfortunately, the MyTab’s battery takes more than three hours to fully charge again. The Optus MyTab has obvious shortcomings, as any tablet in this price range will. Provided you’re willing to live with the lack of Flash and multitouch support, the lack of power to complete multiple tasks quickly, and the fact that this version of Android hasn’t been designed with tablets in mind, the MyTab provides all the features and benefits of the flexible Android platform. My advice it not worth the money but if u can’t put up with the lcd and sound prob don’t get better investing in something like the Samsung galaxy tablet .

The Telstra t tab (Huawei S7)

The testra t tab is a very poorly made tablet on the market as I have tested opening apps is very slow does not pick up touch points lags a lot that just for stuff like facebook and msn and yahoo messenger Unfortunately, the Telstra T-Touch Tab has mediocre battery life. Even with moderate use, it rarely lasted three hours, and struggled to even last this long when used regularly. We watched 20 minutes of an AVI video file, listened to music, and periodically used the browser and a few Web-centric apps like Facebook and Twitter and the T-Touch Tab needed a recharge before the two hour mark. On a device that’s been tailored for Internet and multimedia use, this is a real black mark. Despite its obvious shortcomings, the Telstra T-Touch Tab is a reasonable multimedia device and Android is far less restrictive than Apple’s iPad/iPhone platform. While the Dell Streak and the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab could be considered competitors, their higher price means the T-Touch Tab is effectively alone as an affordable, entry-level tablet that doesn’t skimp on too many features.

Hi there all there been a lot of email people asking me what sort of mi fi are out there and how well they perform well right now there 2 types from huawai there the my pocket wifi which is the black one and the white one from which is e585 which is a oem

Huawei E5830

The huawei E5830 is not a reliable mifi as in most areas it drops out I used it in cities and in rural areas take hell of long time to connect I have used in the pass Optus Vodafone and dodo the whose network out them is Optus and dodo for 3g wireless broadband they still have to fix the black spots and there a lot of bugs huawei has to fix on this device as there a lot I found with the battery life there was only at most 3 hours well most device last 4 hours great design poorly made I bought one just over a year now now under a lot of use it seem to have died and won’t start again I would not pay the 200 bucks or more for it or get it on plan why is because It not worth it connect to the wi fi just a joke to start with drops out every few mins connected it up with 2 devices lap top (asus) and my tega tablet gave me good decent wifi but wait the dongle went from cyan to blue in matter of seconds once on blue it useless speed can’t even get on the internet or msn .

Pro’s

Well design
Basic use is good
Speed Decent
Good Quilty Battey

Con’s

Crap Signal For Wi FI And 3g Networking
Crap Battery Life On The Road
Not Worth The Asking Price
Sometimes Cant Even Connect To Anything

Huawei E585

This one the 2nd one huawei came out with as u notices there some changes in this model more reliable then the first E5830 they added a oled display that show your data us use and all ur connections how many devices are on the wi fi and speed of ur connection.
